A.Lancaster webAmy Lancaster
Wiltshire based artist Amy Lancaster has been working with welded found objects inspired by the British countryside for the past 12 years. Originally an equine therapist her life-size animal sculptures are made entirely from scrap metal using discarded farm machinery and agricultural bygones to create the form. The forms are never whole, negative space creates form where there is only air. An understanding of anatomy allows her to spot a piece of muscle or bone in the scrap heap. Often just simply finding one discarded item result in a journey to the finished creature. Her work has been commissioned in Europe and is in collections across the UK. Commissions welcome.
