Nick Andrew
Nick Andrew studied art and graphic design in Oxford, Cheltenham and London His home and studio are in part of a watermill on the upper reaches of the River Wylye near Warminster.
Nick’s paintings are inspired by the colours, movement and textures of the river, meadows and forest landscape within walking distance. He also undertakes plein air drawing projects. Most recently ‘Confluence’ explored sources, tributaries and confluences of the five chalk rivers which shape the landscape of South Wiltshire through a series of mixed media drawings.
In his latest project: ‘Points or Reference’, Nick is making drawings at all the OS trig points within a 10-mile radius of Salisbury. The resulting collection will be exhibited in Salisbury in Sept 2027. Nick and his partner, Tanya Hinton regularly open their studio to visitors on the first Saturday of every month (Bull Mill Studio, Crockerton, Warminster. BA12 8AY).
In 2001, Nick established the Wylye Valley Art Trail, a biennial open studios event in South Wiltshire. He has recently stepped down as co-ordinator after 25 years running the event.
