Salisbury Art Trail ‘2020’
Covoid Placement

Dear Art Trailers & Plain Arts Members

On behalf of the Plain Arts committee we must regretfully inform you that in these unprecedented times
we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the Art Trail planned for June this year.

We have been reviewing the viability of running the trail in the light of increasing concern and information about Coronavirus and COVID-19
over the last two weeks.
The spread of the virus and the growing threat it poses to all of us cannot go unheeded, particularly when we are planning events
where Plain Arts members
are drawn together in public places, risking an increase in the chances of possible transmission.

With the most recent Government announcement advising restrictions on gatherings and reducing potential places of contact,
it is our duty and responsibility
to take all precautions and best care of each other and cancel the trail.

We have assessed the possibility of rescheduling for later in the year.
However, there are complex logistical factors involved to be able to do this successfully
in the time frame available,
as well as the current ongoing uncertainties.

We ask that you please bear with us whilst we sort refund options for the 2020 trail.

We are taking the situation very seriously, and want to do everything we can to support the well-being
of our members and the general public.
We will be in touch again very soon and wish everyone healthy times ahead.

Stay safe and healthy.

With all best wishes,
Judith Rodgers, Chair, Plain Arts

On behalf of the Committee

Shadow LineArt Trail Statement for 2018

The 2018 Salisbury Art Trail marked the twelfth occasion of this biannual event.
Over the years the Trail has become ever more successful, vibrant and expanded. 2018 was no exception.
Over 100 artists took part in 55 venues, with amazing and diverse art across all mediums;
discovered in open houses, artists studios, pop up venues, offices, cafes, restaurants, galleries,
churches, workshops, hotels, colleges and more.

Two showcase venues; “ Trailblazers” at Wiltshire Creative Salisbury Art Centre and Salisbury
Library were highlights of the Trail. Exhibiting the wealth of talent and creativity of Plain Art artists
and an exciting taste of what was on offer through the city and out into the countryside.

The Art Trail offers a visual richness and creative perspectives, a visual culture that brings life to,
and be the pulse of, a city and it environs.  Plain Arts has now become established within the
creative culture of the city and intends to further strengthen and enhance the artistic
community and the Trail going forward.

The success of this Trail, and all Art Trails, ultimately rests with the artists.
It is Plain Arts artists creativity and enthusiasm that make the trail and all deserve to be credited,
celebrated and acknowledged.
