Andrew Taylor - Painting and Stained Glass

Andrew was born in South Africa and came to the UK at the age of sixteen. Those formative years had already made a deep impression, nurturing his enduring love of the landscape.

After nearly a decade working as a scenic artist, he followed a calling into liturgical stained glass, designing, making, and painting windows for churches across the UK.

Alongside this studio-based work, Andrew has always kept his sketchbooks close at hand, finding balance and renewal in painting, en plein air, with oils on panel or canvas. In Andrew’s words: “Through all these years, I’ve kept a flow of my own artistic work alive in the form of sketchbooks and paintings. The best of this has been when painting outside, en plein air, using oil paint on panel or canvas. In the last decade or more, I have steadily been doing a lot more plein air painting.”
